The drive, stretch by stretch

The airport sits at Raja Sansi, about 11 km north-west of Amritsar city. From the terminal the driver heads round the city to join the GT Road heading east. The highway runs past the Beas river crossing, close to the Radha Soami Satsang Beas dera, then on through Kartarpur into Jalandhar. It is a wide, busy four-lane road with trucks at all hours, but no ghat sections and no major bottlenecks outside the city edges.

A few practical notes from the drivers:
