Dasuya to Amritsar Airport Taxi Service

Dasuya is a highway town on NH44, but the quickest way to Amritsar airport does not stay on the highway. We cut across through Tanda and over the Beas river, about 85 km in total and roughly 2 hours.

What to send us when you book

• Flight number and date. We check the schedule before the driver leaves and set the pickup time from it.
• Exact pickup point. A WhatsApp location pin for village homes; a landmark for addresses in Dasuya town.
• Number of people and bags. This decides between a sedan and an Innova.
• Any stop on the way. A relative's house, a gurdwara, or darshan at the Golden Temple.

Via Tanda and across the Beas

From Dasuya the car heads to Tanda, crosses the Beas river and runs on through the Majha side towards Amritsar. That is shorter than going down NH44 to Jalandhar and back up through Kartarpur and Beas, which we use only if the Tanda side has roadworks or a closure. The airport is at Raja Sansi, about 11 km north-west of Amritsar city, so the driver comes in from outside and never needs to go near the Golden Temple area. Tolls and parking are discussed and confirmed at booking.

Who flies out from Dasuya

Like much of Hoshiarpur district, the Dasuya area sends a lot of people abroad. Our usual passengers are men returning to jobs in Dubai, Qatar or Saudi Arabia after a month at home, families travelling to relatives in Canada, England or Europe, and older parents flying out to spend the winter or summer with their children overseas. Gulf departures are often late at night, so most of our Dasuya trips start in the evening.

Dasuya also sits right on NH44, so passengers coming off a bus or train here from Pathankot or Jalandhar can be picked up straight from the stop.

Night flights, fog and darshan

The drive is about 2 hours. For an international flight you should be at the terminal 3 hours early, so for a 2:30 am departure we would pick you up at about 9:30 pm. For domestic flights, start about 4 hours before take-off.

From mid-December to late January, the open land around the Beas river crossing often gets thick fog at night, and the run can take an hour longer. We plan for that rather than hope it clears.

Want to visit Harmandir Sahib before flying? Start 2 to 3 hours earlier. The driver waits with the car and your bags, then takes you on to Raja Sansi.

Sedan or Innova?

For one or two passengers with a couple of bags, a Swift Dzire, Honda Amaze or Toyota Etios is fine; they seat 4. Gulf workers often carry boxes and an extra suitcase going back, and families carry much more, so a Toyota Innova, Innova Crysta or Mahindra Marazzo, seating 6 to 7, is the safer choice. Larger groups can take a 12-seater or 17-seater Tempo Traveller. Every car is air-conditioned.
