Beas to Amritsar airport is one of the shortest airport runs in Punjab: about 50 km on the GT Road, roughly an hour on a clear road. Much of our work here comes from sangat visiting the Radha Soami Satsang Beas dera, many of whom fly in and out of Amritsar from abroad.

Who usually books this car

Three kinds of travellers call us for Beas to ATQ:

• Dera visitors heading home. Sangat who came for satsang, often from the UK, Canada, the USA or the Gulf, and need a morning or late-night drop at the airport with their bags.
• Families from Beas town and nearby villages on both sides of the river, seeing off a son or daughter going back to work abroad.
• Travellers who arrived at Beas railway station and want to go straight to the airport without going into Amritsar city.

Timing is simple, but do not cut it fine

Because the drive is only about an hour, people tend to leave late. Our advice is to plan to stand at the terminal 3 hours before an international departure and 2 hours before a domestic one. So for a 9 am flight to Dubai, leave Beas around 4:45 am. For a 2 pm domestic flight, leave around 11 am.

Two things change this. During big satsang programmes at the dera, the roads around Beas fill with buses and cars, and getting from the dera gates back to the highway can take a while. And in December and January, fog sits low over the Beas river belt; we add 30 to 45 minutes for early-morning runs in those months.

The road

From Beas we stay on the GT Road heading towards Amritsar. Before the city, the driver turns off for Raja Sansi, where the airport sits about 11 km north-west of Amritsar. That means no driving through the crowded lanes near the Golden Temple. The whole run is on good highway; tolls and parking are agreed with you when you book.

Time for the Golden Temple first?

Many dera visitors want to bow their heads at Harmandir Sahib before flying. Since Beas is so close, it is easy to do: leave 2 to 3 hours earlier, the driver drops you near the Golden Temple, waits, then takes you on to the airport. Keep the bags locked in the car with the driver. Tell us at booking so we plan the time properly.

Where we collect you

We pick up from the dera area (from wherever visitors are allowed to meet a car), Beas town, Beas railway station, and villages around Beas and Baba Bakala. Share your exact location on WhatsApp the night before and the driver will call when he is close.
