Start time is the first thing to settle for a Gurdaspur flight out of Chandigarh. The airport is about 230 km away, roughly 4½ hours, so a morning flight means leaving in the middle of the night. Below is how we plan it, the road we use, and the towns we pick up from.
Plan backwards from your flight
| Your flight from IXC | Leave Gurdaspur | Why |
|---|---|---|
| 7 a.m. domestic | About midnight | 4½ hours on the road, a short stop, 2 hours at the airport |
| 1 p.m. domestic | About 6 a.m. | Daytime traffic in Jalandhar and Ludhiana |
| International | About 8 hours before departure | 3 hours at the airport plus the drive and a margin |
From late December through January, fog in the Majha and Doaba can be thick from midnight till mid-morning. On those nights we suggest adding another 45 minutes to an hour.
Batala, then down to NH44
From Gurdaspur the road runs south to Batala, then on towards Jalandhar, where it joins NH44. After that it is Phagwara, Ludhiana, and either Samrala–Kharar or Khanna–Sirhind into the airport on the Mohali side. Our base is in Jalandhar, which sits on this road, so the car usually comes up to you along the same route you will travel back on.
Passengers on the Pathankot or Dinanagar side of the district are sometimes better off going via Mukerian and Dasuya to Jalandhar. The driver decides on the night based on your address.
Towns and villages we cover
- Gurdaspur city – homes, the bus stand and the railway station.
- Batala – a big town in its own right, known for its foundries and machinery works. Pickups here are on the way.
- Dera Baba Nanak – home of the Kartarpur corridor to Gurdwara Darbar Sahib Kartarpur in Pakistan. Pilgrims who flew into Chandigarh for the corridor often book us for the return to the airport.
- Qadian – visitors to the town's annual gathering and families who live there.
- Dinanagar, Kalanaur, Fatehgarh Churian and villages in between.
Village addresses work best with a WhatsApp location pin.
Corridor day and flight day
A Kartarpur corridor visit is a day trip with its own entry and exit formalities, and the return time is not fully in your hands. For that reason we advise pilgrims not to plan a same-day flight from Chandigarh. Stay the night in Dera Baba Nanak, Batala or Gurdaspur and leave for the airport the following night or morning. If you have no choice, pick a late-night flight and tell us when you expect to be back at the corridor.
Who usually books from Gurdaspur
Army families are common, since the district is a border area with defence stations around it. So are students going abroad, and corridor pilgrims. Families with relatives overseas usually fly with a lot of luggage, which decides the car more than the number of passengers does.
Car sizes
For one to four people with average luggage: Swift Dzire, Honda Amaze or Toyota Etios. For larger families, elders who want legroom on a long drive, or anyone with heavy bags: Toyota Innova, Innova Crysta or Mahindra Marazzo. Groups and pilgrim parties: 12 or 17-seater Tempo Traveller. All are air-conditioned.
Is Amritsar closer?
Yes. Amritsar airport is only about 90 km from Gurdaspur, roughly 2 hours via Batala. If the same airline flies from both, our Gurdaspur to Amritsar airport taxi will save you half the drive. Chandigarh is the choice when it has your flight. Neighbours further north can see the Pathankot airport page; travellers from the Majha side, the Amritsar to Chandigarh airport page. If you pass through our home city, the Jalandhar pickup page explains the rest of the road. All towns are on the Chandigarh airport hub.

Call or WhatsApp +91 72680 42000 with your flight number, pickup address and luggage. The quote is confirmed in advance, with tolls and parking agreed at booking, and the driver's name and number come to you on WhatsApp before the trip.
