The answer is choice: the local airport has had very few scheduled flights, while Shaheed Bhagat Singh International Airport (IXC) has many daily departures and direct Gulf services. The drive is about 215 km and roughly 4 hours, almost all of it on NH7.

Why Bathinda passengers end up at IXC

If the flight you need runs from Bathinda on your date, use it. Most of the time it does not, and the next practical options are Chandigarh or Delhi. Chandigarh is roughly half the distance of Delhi, with flights to most big Indian cities and direct services to Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah. Be at IXC about 2 hours before a domestic flight and 3 hours before an international one. Add 4 hours of driving and a 30-minute buffer. So a 10:00 am domestic flight means a pickup around 3:30 am; an 11:00 am Gulf flight, around 3:30 am too. In thick winter fog on NH7, we may suggest leaving an hour earlier.

Families, Army households with heavy bags and students going abroad are better off in a Toyota Innova, Innova Crysta or Mahindra Marazzo (6 to 7 seats, much more boot space). Arrivals at IXC

Landing passengers only need to send the flight number; we handle the timing from there. Expect a WhatsApp message with your driver's name and mobile number before departure, and look for him at the arrivals exit. For AIIMS visitors, we can drop straight at the hospital campus.
