Phagwara to Chandigarh Airport Taxi Service

A good share of our Phagwara airport bookings start at the gates of Lovely Professional University. Students fly home at term end, parents fly in for admissions, and someone needs to carry the trunk. Chandigarh airport is about 125 km from Phagwara, roughly 2½ hours, and there are two very different roads to get there.

LPU students and parents: how these trips usually go

LPU sits on NH44 between Phagwara and Jalandhar, and its students come from all over India and abroad. For many of them Chandigarh is the nearest airport with direct flights home. The patterns we see:

• Semester end and holidays – several students from the same hostel share one car to split the trip. An Innova or Marazzo takes six students and their bags.
• Admission and move-in days – parents land at Chandigarh, we pick them up, drop them at the campus, and often take them back to the airport two or three days later.
• Convocation – families travel in groups; a 12-seater Tempo Traveller works well.
• International students – connecting through the Gulf on flights from Chandigarh to Dubai, Abu Dhabi or Sharjah.

Hostel luggage is heavier than people expect: buckets, mattresses, cartons of books. Tell us honestly what you are carrying and we will send a car that fits it.

Two roads from Phagwara

Via Ludhiana (the usual way)

South-east on NH44 across the Sutlej at Ladhowal into Ludhiana, then the Samrala–Kharar road to the airport. It is predictable, has fuel and food all the way, and is what we use for night runs.

Via Banga, Nawanshahr and Ropar

Phagwara is one of the few towns where the alternative is a real option. The road east runs through Banga and Nawanshahr, then Balachaur and Ropar, and comes into Kharar from the north. It avoids Ludhiana city traffic altogether. In daytime, when Ludhiana is jammed, this route often saves time. The driver will tell you which one he plans to take when he arrives.

Pickup points in and around Phagwara

LPU main gate and hostel side gates (check the current entry rules for outside vehicles with your hostel office), Phagwara bus stand, the railway station, GT Road, and homes in the town and nearby villages. Our base is in Jalandhar, so a car reaching LPU or Phagwara does not take long, even on short notice.

Timing for your flight

For a 6 a.m. domestic flight that means leaving around 1 a.m. Students often prefer an evening flight to avoid the night start; the drive back down the Kharar side can then be slow, so we still keep a margin.

Car options

• Swift Dzire / Honda Amaze / Toyota Etios – up to 4 people, two big suitcases.
• Toyota Innova / Innova Crysta / Mahindra Marazzo – 6 to 7 people or a lot of hostel luggage.
• Tempo Traveller (12 or 17 seats) – group of friends or a family at convocation.

All are air-conditioned and driven by drivers who do this road often.

Flying back in for the new term

The return leg matters as much as the drop. Students landing at Chandigarh with a fresh load of luggage from home can book the arrival pickup in the same call. Give us the flight number; the driver waits at arrivals and drives straight to the LPU gate or to your PG in Phagwara. If several friends land within an hour or two of each other, one larger car for the group can replace three separate trips, as long as everyone is happy to wait for the last flight.
