Phagwara to Delhi NCR Taxi Service

Phagwara has one big advantage for a Delhi trip: the town is already on NH44, so the car is on the main highway within minutes of picking you up. From here it is about 350 km and roughly 6 hours 30 minutes to Delhi, a little less than from Jalandhar or Kapurthala.

One highway, start to finish

From Phagwara the car heads south-east on NH44 through Goraya, past the Ladhowal toll and around Ludhiana, then Khanna, Rajpura and into Haryana near Shambhu. Ambala, Karnal, Panipat and Sonipat follow. There are no confusing link roads, which is why night runs from Phagwara are so smooth. The Murthal dhabas near Sonipat are the usual stop, about an hour short of Delhi.

Once you are past Sonipat, the route depends on your address in NCR. The driver will usually take the KMP side for Gurugram and Manesar, and the eastern side for Noida and Ghaziabad, so the car does not have to cross central Delhi.

Students and parents from LPU

Lovely Professional University sits on the highway just outside Phagwara, and a lot of our bookings on this route come from its students and their families. Typical trips:

• Parents from Delhi or Gurugram dropping a student at the start of a semester, then going home in the same car.
• Students heading home to NCR at the end of term with a full year's luggage.
• Students going to Delhi for a visa appointment or biometrics before studying abroad.

We pick up from the campus gate or from any PG or flat in Phagwara. Hostel luggage takes space, so for two students with full bags we would suggest an Innova rather than a sedan.

Time to each part of NCR

These assume normal traffic. If you reach Delhi between about 5 and 9 pm, add more. For a night start, say midnight from Phagwara, you would usually be in north Delhi by early morning, well before the office traffic, which is why visa and hospital trips from here often leave late at night.

Business trips and hospital visits

Phagwara has a good number of factories and traders, and owners often need to reach a client in Gurugram or a supplier in Noida for a single meeting. Leave around 4 or 5 am, reach by lunchtime, and you can either return the same night or stay over. We also take families to AIIMS in Delhi and Medanta in Gurugram. For patients we use a larger car and the driver stops whenever needed.

Choosing a car

Swift Dzire, Honda Amaze and Toyota Etios: up to four people and a normal amount of luggage. Toyota Innova, Innova Crysta and Mahindra Marazzo: six or seven people, or fewer people with a lot of bags. Tempo Traveller in 12-seater and 17-seater: wedding parties, student groups and big families. All of them are air-conditioned.

Same-day return or night halt

A same-day round trip from Phagwara to Delhi works if your work there takes a few hours and you leave very early. Expect about 13 hours of driving in total. If you need to visit more than one place across NCR, or the meeting may run late, book a night halt and return the next morning. Either way, tell us your plan at booking.
