Pathankot to Delhi NCR Taxi Service

This page covers both kinds of trip we run from Pathankot to Delhi: drops at Delhi airport (IGI) for a flight, and drops at a home, office or hotel anywhere in Delhi NCR. The road is the same for both. The difference is in the timing, because a flight will not wait and a Delhi appointment usually can be planned around traffic.

Airport or city: the numbers

For a flight from Delhi

All international flights leave from Terminal 3. Domestic flights use Terminal 3 or Terminal 1 depending on the airline; IndiGo, SpiceJet and Akasa mostly use Terminal 1. Send us your flight number and we will plan backwards from the departure time. For an international flight at 10 pm, for example, you need to be at T3 by 7 pm, so we would leave Pathankot around 8 or 9 am to cover the drive, meal stops and any delay at the Delhi end. For an early-morning flight, an overnight start is normal.

For a city drop in NCR

If you are going to a house in Gurugram, a hospital like AIIMS in Delhi or Medanta in Gurugram, a visa appointment, or a wedding, the start time depends on the hour you need to arrive. Overnight departures work well: leave Pathankot around 11 pm or midnight and you reach Delhi in the morning before the office rush. Gurugram is usually reached on the KMP or NH48 side, and Noida and Ghaziabad from the eastern side of Delhi.

Himachal travellers coming down

Pathankot is where many trips to Dalhousie, Dharamshala and McLeod Ganj begin and end. Families finishing a hill holiday often come down to Pathankot and want a car straight to Delhi airport or home in NCR rather than a train. We can pick you up at Pathankot railway station, the bus stand or your hotel. If you want to start from the hills instead, ask us; we run Himachal trips and can plan a pickup there as part of the booking.

Army and Air Force families

Pathankot has a large cantonment and an Air Force station, so a lot of our bookings are defence families going on leave, joining a new posting, or meeting relatives in NCR. We pick up from the cantonment area and the Pathankot Cantt railway station side as well as the city. With household luggage, an Innova, Innova Crysta or Mahindra Marazzo carries far more than a sedan.

The road

From Pathankot the car comes down through Mukerian and Dasuya towards Jalandhar, then joins NH44 for the long run south: Phagwara, Ludhiana, Khanna, Rajpura, the Haryana border near Shambhu, Ambala, Karnal, Panipat and Sonipat. On a trip of over 8 hours, plan two proper breaks, one around Jalandhar or Ludhiana and one at the Murthal dhabas near Sonipat.

Picking a vehicle

• Up to 4 passengers, normal bags: Swift Dzire, Honda Amaze or Toyota Etios.
• 6-7 passengers, or 4 with international luggage: Toyota Innova, Innova Crysta or Mahindra Marazzo.
• Groups and tour parties: 12-seater or 17-seater Tempo Traveller.

Every vehicle has working AC, which matters on the plains in summer after the cool of the hills. Airport parking, highway tolls and the interstate permit are all settled while you book, so nothing new comes up at T3 or at your gate in NCR.
