Chandigarh is close enough to Delhi that a lot of people treat it as a commute. It is about 250 km and roughly 5 hours by road, which means a meeting in Gurugram and dinner back home in the same day is realistic. That makes this one of the routes where we do the most same-day round trips.
The people on this route
Many of our Chandigarh bookings are from professionals who live in the Tricity but have offices, clients or head offices in Gurugram, Noida or Delhi. Others are people with court or ministry work in Delhi, families with a visa appointment, and patients going to AIIMS or Medanta for a specialist. Wedding season brings its own rush, with families heading to functions across NCR.
Getting out of the city: the Zirakpur question
Every Chandigarh–Delhi trip goes through Zirakpur, and that stretch decides how the first hour goes. In the morning and evening, the Zirakpur flyover area and the road towards Dera Bassi can be slow. The practical advice:
- Leave before about 6:30 am and Zirakpur is usually clear.
- On weekends and wedding days, the road through Zirakpur and Dera Bassi can be busy even at midday. Add 20 to 30 minutes.
- From Dera Bassi the car goes on to Ambala and joins NH44, then Karnal, Panipat, Sonipat and Delhi.
We pick up from any sector in Chandigarh, from Panchkula, Zirakpur, and from hotels, the railway station and the ISBTs.
Same-day return: how it works
| Step | Typical time |
|---|---|
| Pickup in Chandigarh | 5:30 - 6 am |
| Breakfast stop at Murthal (optional) | around 9 am |
| Reach Gurugram or Noida office | around 11 am - noon |
| Leave NCR | by 3 - 4 pm, before the evening peak |
| Back in Chandigarh | around 9 - 10 pm |
The car and driver wait while you work. The thing that ruins a same-day trip is leaving NCR after 5 pm. If your meeting might run late, it can be better to book a night halt and drive back in the morning.
How far into NCR?
The 5-hour figure is to Delhi's northern edge. For Gurugram, the driver usually goes round on the KMP side or takes the NH48 approach, which adds about 30 to 90 minutes. Noida and Ghaziabad are on the eastern side of Delhi and take a similar extra time. Faridabad depends on the route the driver picks on the day. If you have several stops, say a client in Noida and then another in Gurugram, give us both addresses and plenty of time. Crossing NCR from east to west in the afternoon is slow.
Car choice
Most office travellers take a Swift Dzire, Honda Amaze or Toyota Etios. If you want to work on a laptop, or are travelling with colleagues, the Innova Crysta is roomier and more comfortable for a 10-hour day. Families and wedding groups use the Innova, Mahindra Marazzo, or a 12-seater or 17-seater Tempo Traveller. Every car is air-conditioned.
Visa days and hospital visits
For a 9 am visa slot in Delhi, leave Chandigarh around 3 am. For a hospital appointment, tell us the reporting time and whether the patient needs a larger car. Both trips often end with a same-day return, since the drive is short enough.
The car crosses from Chandigarh into Haryana and Delhi, and into UP for Noida or Ghaziabad. We settle permits, tolls and parking when you book and you get a confirmed quote in advance.
Related routes
If you are flying out of Delhi, see Chandigarh to Delhi airport. People on the Mohali side can use Mohali to Delhi NCR. For flights from the Chandigarh side there is a city-to-airport cab, and Ambala to Delhi NCR is the next town down the road.

Call or WhatsApp +91 72680 42000 with your sector or address, the office or home address in NCR, and whether you need a same-day return. We confirm the car and send driver details on WhatsApp before the trip.
Questions people ask about this trip
Can I go to Gurugram for a meeting and come back to Chandigarh the same day?
Yes. Leave around 6 am, reach Gurugram by late morning, and start back by 3 or 4 pm to avoid the evening peak. The car waits while you work.
Why does the trip take longer in the evening?
The Zirakpur and Dera Bassi stretch is slow at peak hours, and Delhi and Gurugram traffic is heavy from about 5 to 9 pm.
Do you pick up from Panchkula and Zirakpur too?
Yes. We pick up from any Chandigarh sector, Panchkula, Zirakpur, hotels, the railway station and the bus stands.
What time should I leave for a 9 am visa appointment in Delhi?
Around 3 am. That covers roughly 5 hours of driving with some spare time for traffic and finding the centre.
Can I make stops in both Noida and Gurugram?
Yes. Give us both addresses at booking. Crossing NCR from east to west takes time, so leave a good gap between the two stops.
